AoharuNEXT Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Rion Moriyama) launched the pre-sale of "FocusRay," a next-generation face-tracking device for VR SNS equipped with high-performance camera modules, on the crowdfunding site "Kickstarter" starting March 18, 2026, at 20:00 (JST).

Immediately after the project began, it received a response far exceeding expectations, causing concentrated traffic that even led to temporary payment delays on the platform side.

We are pleased to announce that the campaign, which ran from March 18, 2026, to May 12, 2026, has concluded successfully. The final results at the end of the period showed an achievement rate of 399%, with 1,134 backers and a total pledge amount of 15,984,966 JPY.

Even after the campaign period, FocusRay remains available for purchase at a limited price as a late pledge for a certain period. We hope that customers who missed the campaign period will take this opportunity to purchase.

FocusRay is a face-tracking device for VR SNS equipped with high-performance cameras and infrared illumination modules. By featuring cameras capable of 120fps recording with a global shutter system*, it captures user expressions in fine detail and reflects them onto avatars in VR SNS, achieving unprecedented emotional expression.

*A global shutter is a system where all pixels of the camera's image sensor are exposed (capturing light) at the same time, recording the image all at once. This allows for the accurate capture of facial expressions.

The device supports smooth face tracking by utilizing "Baballonia," developed by the open-source face tracking project "Project Babble," as its software.
